About

Four Seasons Antiques and Art was only a conceptual ideal in 2006.

In 2004, Keith and Laura Wilson began an upstart business, primarily as a way to express their love for antiques, operating under the name of “Wilson’s Antiquities, LLC”.

Originally located within Christopher House Antiques on 7th Ave South in Birmingham, the business grew from a small dealer space encompassing the corner of a back room to a very large space in the Store’s front window. At the time they dealt mostly in traditional antiques, as well as some Eastern European Pine. They had always been fans of the “Arts and Crafts Movement and the clean lines of the furniture commonly know as Mission-Style.

It wasn’t until the Wilson’s attended the 2006 National Arts and Crafts Conference at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC that they felt the inspiration to expand. Wilson’s Antiquities would not only carry traditional antiques and Eastern European pine but would also carry a complementing collection of Arts and Crafts/Mission Style furniture and accessories!

The business grew to the point that they made the leap of faith to go out on their own. Laura continued with her real estate career and Keith resigned from his position with a local manufacturer’s rep. agency to form Four Seasons Antiques and Art. The business was organized in March of 2006 and opened its doors in Bluff Park on June 1st of the same year. The original Four Seasons consisted of a main showroom floor for the Furniture which was primarily Arts and Crafts, Mission and Eastern European Pine. There was also a pottery loft dedicated to three- dimensional artwork as well as a gallery for paintings. There was also an opened downstairs area which was comprised of two very talented antique dealers.

Over the course of the first year, the business saw rapid growth and developed a strong customer base of folks interested in Arts and Crafts furnishings, as well as quality artwork.

After searching around the Birmingham area, they decided to open their new shop on 18th street in Homewood. On April 1st , 2008 Four Seasons Antiques and Art opened the doors at its new location.

Their slogan is “Purveyors of Extraordinary Things” The rest of the story is history in the making.
