Charles Neugent was born in Birmingham, Alabama. After serving three years in the United States Army in Europe, he worked in the food & beverage industry for the next twenty years. Charles opened several restaurants, though most of his career was spent in country club operations. He now paints full time at his home studio in Birmingham where he lives with his 13-year-old son, Ceylor. Charles donates to the Alabama Autism Society and Mitchell’s Place and encourages others to do so.
His paintings are usually made of acrylic paint and whatever else might be lying around. He affixes these various items to wood panels or canvas in an effort to create unique abstracts. Charles Neugent is completely self-taught and started painting at age 43.
